![]() ![]() While opting for a small-form-factor SFX power supply is still often a requirement in the smallest cases, most ITX cases released in recent years also support full-length two- or three-slot graphics cards. Still, that's not always the case, and cards have gotten larger with the launch of Nvidia's 4090. There was a time when Mini-ITX meant trading performance for compactness, requiring small components like short, compact graphics cards. Most PC builders just don’t need a large ATX system these days, especially with so many great Mini-ITX motherboards currently on the market. And cloud services and external NAS devices can take care of most mass storage. Four- and even eight-terabyte M.2 SSDs are the size of a finger (and fast getting cheaper), minimizing the need for several SATA hard drives and SSDs. And Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and high-end audio are now built into most mid-range and higher-end motherboards. ![]() The days of multi-GPU SLI or CrossFire gaming rigs are long past. ![]()
